We understand all injuries are preventable which is why we incorporate safety into every aspect of our business. To achieve an injury and incident free workplace your safety process should be employee-driven and management-supported. We strive to cultivate a work environment where every person understands they have a responsibility not only for their safety but for the safety of those around them, “We Are Our Brother’s Keeper”. We encourage our employees to be involved in all levels of the safety process. By empowering our people we will attain our goal of a culture completely focused around safety.
Striving to exceed safety standards
Sunrock strives to exceed federal and North Carolina safety and health compliance standards. Training and teaching our employees to understand safety standards and recognize work place hazards and at-risk behaviors is the fundamental key. We do this through task training, daily work place examinations, weekly safety meeting, monthly inspection visits, and many other safety practices.
We also provide leadership training to ensure that all managers understand the importance of their role as a leader in our safety culture. The Sunrock team conducts regular inspections of our facilities and equipment to eliminate hazards in the workplace.
Safety achievement awards
Over the years, Sunrock has been recognized with numerous safety achievement awards from the North Carolina Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration, Carolinas Ready Mixed Concrete Association, National Ready Mixed Association and the National Stone Sand and Gravel Association.
Sunrock concrete delivery professionals have also won first place in the Carolinas Ready Mixed Concrete Association Annual Mixer Driver Championship and the Carolinas Ready Mixed Concrete Association has repeatedly recognized various Sunrock concrete delivery professionals as Driver of the Year. Both of these achievements include safety in their award criteria.
